How to apply make up - 4 steps to finding the right shade of foundation
Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 02:01PM One of the top questions on how to apply make up is how to choose the correct foundation color.
The key, is to know which part of your face you are trying to blend.
The part you are trying to match is the area between the nose and the jaw connection.
1 - Take three shades, the one you think matches, one lighter and one lighter and one darker
2 - Place a stripe of each, down the cheek, side by side, with the nearest match in the middle.
Leave them to dry for about 20 seconds and you will see the foundation more clearly on your skin.
3 - Any colors which are too dark, will start to stand out and any colors too light, will start to appear as white lines.
4 - The correct color, will start to blend in with the skin tone
If you still haven' found a match, move to either lighter or darker colors, and test three new shades using the same process.
