How to apply make up - Easy Smokey Eyes

Today on how to apply make up,  thought it would be good to look at the easy smokey eye.

Curl your lashes to open the eye

You need three brushes...

Smudge brush - Smudge Eye Brush

Blender Brush - Colorescience Eye Blender Brush

Flat Shadow Brush - be PROFESSIONAL makeup flat liner brush

Three shadows of the same shade - Dark, Medium and Light

Apply a dark liner along the lash line in the same color family as your shadows- Don't worry about accuracy

Run the smudge brush over the eye liner

Use the same brush and use your darkest eye shadow and apply over the eye liner, to smudge in further

Using your flat shadow brush and apply the medium tone to the lid, almost to the crease - again dont worry about neatness

Then take the lightest color on the blender brush and apply into the crease and blend until you have the colour you like

With the smudge brush mix the medium and light shade and with the wide side apply on the lower lash from the outside to the middle, then tilt the brush, to the narrow side and finish to the tear duct, continue around the tear duct to finish the definition.

To add further definition, use the pencil again, to apply along the waterline of the lower eye.

Apply the mascara

How to apply make up - Applying mascara

When it comes to applying mascara, a common question is what color, rather than how to apply make up.

For most people, black is the best color to work with for most occasions. If you have red or very blonde eye lashes, then brown is a better color.

The first step, if you have long straight lashes, or downward facing lashes is to curl the eyelashes.

Apply the mascara from underneath the upper lashes (the eye side) and for the lower lashes, the upper side (eye side).

Layer mascara to achieve the depth required.

Separate the lashes as you apply the mascara

How to apply make up - The no make up look

There are some days when I just don't want to look as though I am wearing make up and the video today, looks at how to apply make up for a no make up look.

1. On the lips - apply chapstick, or clear gloss or lipstick

2. Curl the lashes and use a brown mascara or a product such as Benefits Speed Brow

3. Use either a concealer or foundation and blend with your moisturizer

4. Use a product such as Benefits Speed Brow on the eye brow

It really is as easy at that...

How to apply make up - Face contouring

Often when wondering about how to apply make up people ask about applying make up to create a different structure to the face and this is achieved by dark and light shades.

In short, a dark shade will detract from the area and a light shade will give prominence to a facial area.

The video, gives tips on how to narrow the nose and how to highlight the cheekbone.
